Announcements – October 10, 2017 – Day B

Today’s Lunch Menu: Chicken fajitas, Peas, Mandarin oranges, Rice Krispie bar, Milk

Tomorrow’s Breakfast:  Cereal/toast, or Cini mini, Fruit, Milk

Tomorrow’s Lunch: Hot ham & cheese/bun, FF, Corn, Pears, Milk

            

1. Reminder:  If you are entering or leaving the building during the scheduled school day, you are required to stop in the office and sign in and out.  This does include seniors.

2. If a student is absent, the parent is asked to notify the office.  The school phone system is setup to take messages 24 hours a day (for calls before and after the office is open).  Upon returning to school after being absent from the building, the student is required to check in with the office.  Before leaving for any reason during the school day, the student is required to check in with the office prior to leaving the building.  If the school has not been notified and the student is absent the school will attempt to notify the parents or guardian.

3.  Seniors please stop on the office to verify and initial the spelling of your name for diplomas. 

4.  Every October, schools and organizations across the country join STOMP Out Bullying™ in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. The goal: encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages.   

5.  A representative from NIACC will be at West Fork on October 10th to help register students for spring semester NIACC classes.  Students, please begin looking at what classes you want to enroll in prior to this date.

6.  Information on SPEECH is available.  See Mrs. Schafer to receive your materials and sign up for practice times.

7..  Picture retakes are scheduled for October 20th.  If you planning on retakes, pick up an order form in the office.

8..  JUNIORS – Your class needs 6 volunteers to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the last home football game on Friday, October 20th. You do not have to sell tickets the entire game. Three can sell the first half and 3 can sell half-time though the 3rd quarter. Please sign-up in the office.

9.. A representative from NIACC will be at West Fork on October 10th from 8:00am-2:30pm to help register students for spring semester NIACC classes.  Please begin looking at what classes you want to enroll in prior to this date. In addition to registering for your classes you may also chose to get your picture taken for your NIACC ID starting at 2:30pm on this date.  Your NIACC ID will get you into several events for free such as the following listed below.

Monthly:

NIACC FREE Bowling @ Mystic the 2nd Wednesday of each month

NIACC FREE Movies @ Cinema West in Mason City the last Tuesday of each month

TRIVIA Challenge, Team Competition, NIACC Activity Center (AC) 7pm-9pm

October:

13th Emotion Matrix (4-D Game Experience) 9am-2pm NIACC AC

30th Halloween Dance  NIACC Rec Center 9pm-12pm

31st Adam Arcana, Magician NIACC AC  11:30am-1:30pm

November:

8th Bingo  NIACC AC 11:30am-1pm

February:

14th Make a Name for Yourself, Artistic Gift Activity  NIACC AC 9am-2pm

March:

7th Chris Carter, Mentalist  TBD

10.  Mrs. McLennan will meet with freshman TAG students on Tuesday and Sophomore TAG students on Thursday during first lunch.
