Announcements – October 12, 2017 – Day B

Tomorrow’s Breakfast:  Cereal/toast, or Egg omelet, Fruit, Milk

Tomorrow’s Lunch: BBQ pork/bun, FF, Cooked carrots, Apple slices, Milk


1. Reminder:  If you are entering or leaving the building during the scheduled school day, you are required to stop in the office and sign in and out.  This does include seniors.

2. If a student is absent, the parent is asked to notify the office.  The school phone system is setup to take messages 24 hours a day (for calls before and after the office is open).  Upon returning to school after being absent from the building, the student is required to check in with the office.  Before leaving for any reason during the school day, the student is required to check in with the office prior to leaving the building.  If the school has not been notified and the student is absent the school will attempt to notify the parents or guardian.

3.  Seniors please stop on the office to verify and initial the spelling of your name for diplomas.  Would like to have diploma covers ordered by next week.

4.  Every October, schools and organizations across the country join STOMP Out Bullying™ in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. The goal: encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages.   

5.  Information on SPEECH is available.  See Mrs. Schafer to receive your materials and sign up for practice times.

6.  Picture retakes are scheduled for October 20th.  If you planning on retakes, pick up an order form in the office.

7..  JUNIORS – Your class needs 6 volunteers to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the last home football game on Friday, October 20th. You do not have to sell tickets the entire game. Three can sell the first half and 3 can sell half-time though the 3rd quarter. Please sign-up in the office.

8.  Monthly:

NIACC FREE Bowling @ Mystic the 2nd Wednesday of each month

NIACC FREE Movies @ Cinema West in Mason City the last Tuesday of each month

TRIVIA Challenge, Team Competition, NIACC Activity Center (AC) 7pm-9pm


13th Emotion Matrix (4-D Game Experience) 9am-2pm NIACC AC

30th Halloween Dance  NIACC Rec Center 9pm-12pm

9.  Mrs. McLennan will meet with  Sophomore TAG students today during first lunch.

10.  There are a couple post-secondary representatives visiting West Fork next week. Please visit with these individuals to see what their institutions have to offer.

  • University of Iowa will be at West Fork on Monday, October 16th from 8:30-9:00am
  • NIACC will be at West Fork on Tuesday, October 17 from 11:16am-12:15pm
  • Buena Vista University will be at West Fork on Thursday, October 19 at 11:15am

  • 11.  There will be a meeting this Sunday at 5:45pm at the WC, before open gym, for all boys going out for high school basketball. If you cannot make the meeting please contact Coach Schnoes before the Sunday meeting.
