A donation box has been set up here in our office by Sukup Manufacturing for “Heart for Haiti”. These children are from the Village of Hope in Les Cayas, Haiti and live in Sukup Safe T Homes and lack many of the basic items we use every day. Please consider donating an item needed by a child in Haiti. Items needed are: Notebooks, Crayons, Pens, Pencils, Shampoo, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Children’s Underwear. This donation box will be here for the entire month of February. Thank you.
Grades 4-9 have been invited to play basketball in the Pacesetter Iowa State Regional Playoffs in Cedar Falls/Waterloo February 24-25 and in Pella March 3. Top teams then qualify for the IA state tournament. The IA state tournament is part of an exciting playoff system sponsored by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx that ends with a 5-state playoff on the main Target Center floor in Minneapolis! Kids get to have their own “March Madness” experience! Pretty cool and a great motivator. We hope you will join this effort to keep Hometown Teams playing together. Teams can get further information and register online at www.pacesettersports.net.  If they would prefer to mail in a registration form, they can find it here. I also have forms here in the office if you are interested.
8th Grade Girls Softball: If you are interested in playing high school softball the summer, stop by the office and sign up.
7/8 Grade Girls and Boys Track: If you are interested in being in track this spring, stop by the office and sign up. Practice starts March 26th.
The senior class is doing their annual fundraiser by selling carnations in the high school. They would like to include the middle school by selling small boxes of sweet tarts to them. They will take care of distributing on Valentine’s Day. Sign up sheet is in the office. It is $1.00 each. Due by February 9th. I will collect the money here in the office.
The Rockwell Library has changed their after school program day from Monday at 3:45 pm to Thursday at 3:45 pm.
There is information in the office about a Moped Safety Class being offered by NIACC.
