Our very own Keston Pralle is a star in the making.

His role in the movie regards the music and the sound production within the movie. For this short film, he got the honor to compose every bit of music you hear (or don’t notice) inside. The tension-building music, the atmospheric music, and the opening and ending credits theme. Over the course of 20-30 hours, he digitally crafted all of the sound production inside the movie. He also plays a short role in the movie with no lines as one of the background characters. The movie is premiering tonight at the Windsor Theatre in Hampton.

Keston’s brother, Macaean, also stars in the movie.

The Gray---
At the start of summer, six cousins gather at their grandmother’s countryside home for a few carefree days of family and fun. They plan an overnight campout by a creek in neighboring woods, complete with campfire stories and late-night adventures. But one of the stories—a cryptic warning passed down from their great-grandfather—hangs in the air:

“Never fear the night or the day—only fear what comes in the gray.”

That night, as dusk fades into an unsettling twilight, something strange happens that terrifies 10-year-old Samantha to the core and makes everyone wonder if she's lost her mind.

The Gray is a supernatural thriller that's sure to make your Halloween better than ever.

Hey Westfork, it’s Music Spotlight Thursday! Today, we’re shining a spotlight on junior Emma Schipper and sophomore Ed Kobliska! Also, just a heads-up: we’re switching gears to sophomore students next week in the band. 😌 So sorry for the no post last week—the kids were super busy with all-state choir and the awesome postseason game for the football boys, but we’re totally back in the swing of things! Keep an eye out for next week!

Our student council members visited Iowa State University for the Iowa Student Leadership Conference. Keynote speaker Heather Schultz inspired students to push themselves, embrace challenges, and grow as leaders.

Students also attended breakout sessions tailored to their interests, gaining new ideas and skills to bring back to West Fork. We’re so proud of their leadership and enthusiasm!

Five of our high school choir members went to the All-State tryouts in Hampton on Saturday! They’ve been putting in the hours since August, and now they got to shine and impress the judges for a shot at the All-State festival. Sadly, none of them made it this year, but it was a fantastic experience for them to learn all about how all-state works. On the bright side, the five students and the rest of the high school choir will get to perform at NIACC for their Honor Choir and All-State concert with students from all over north Iowa on Monday, November 3rd.
